Primary Conference 2017

The primary conference will take place at ESC Region 12 on Tuesday, October 3 and will be a full-day workshop with Matt Glover focusing on working with emergent writers. You will be free to go to lunch from 11:00-12:30 then return for the afternoon session.  You may bring a lunch if you wish to remain at ESC Region 12 during the lunch break. 


A nationally known literacy consultant, Matt is a frequent presenter at conferences and in school districts across the country and internationally on topics related to nurturing writers and supporting children’s intellectual growth and development. Matt works in schools with teachers, instructional coaches, and principals to examine and improve instructional practices related to writing. Matt has been an educator for over twenty years both as a teacher and a principal.

Matt has worked with school districts to systemically look at units of study in writing workshop across grade levels as part of a school’s literacy program. He supports teachers in considering units that meet district goals while being responsive to the needs of individual students and classes.
