POSITION: Assistant Professor in Curriculum and Instruction: Bilingual Studies with an emphasis in literacy, mathematics, or science (Tenure track)
QUALIFICATIONS: Consistent with the stated mission of the University to be a world-class institution dedicated to Christian principles and ideals the qualifications for the position include:
Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, Bilingual Education, or related field; relevant subject matter expertise; rank appropriate record of continuing scholarship, grant writing and grant-funded research; and teaching experience in EC-6 that demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively in and with socially, culturally, and economically diverse communities.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Department of Curriculum and Instruction includes undergraduate degrees with multiple majors; master degrees with several specialization options; and doctoral degrees in a variety of fields. This faculty member will collaborate with the existing education faculty in scholarship and teaching appropriate for linguistically and culturally diverse student populations.
Specifically, this faculty member will support the development of a bilingual education program at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He or she will maintain an active research agenda, teach bilingual education and subject specific methods courses, seek external funding to support the program, engage in work with schools, and advise/mentor students.
SALARY AND BEGINNING DATE: The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and professional experience. The anticipated date of appointment is August 2019.
