What types of jobs are available for individuals who obtain this degree?
This program prepares students for entry and mid-level student affairs positions and also serves as a vehicle of advancement for current student affairs administrators.
May I transfer credit hours from another university?
No more than six hours of graduate work may be transferred into Baylor. These hours are subject to approval by the program director.
When do classes meet?
Course scheduling differs each semester. Students may have classes during the day, during the evening, or on Saturdays.
When is the deadline for filing for financial assistance?
Prospective students desiring financial aid should submit their applications as soon as possible. Baylor has a number of sources from which outstanding graduate applicants can be funded for both tuition and stipend costs. However, these funds are often depleted well before our application deadline.
What does it mean to be part of a cohort?
Students who are accepted into the program each fall form a cohort of students who progress through the program together. These students take the same classes each semester. This procedure helps students build relationships with their peers and maintain connections with them throughout their careers.
How many hours of class do students take each semester?
Students register for nine hours of classes during the fall and spring semesters and six hours of classes during the summer term.

If I am admitted to the program, will I have any opportunities to attend professional conferences?
During the second year of the program graduate apprentices are granted $500 through Student Life and $200 through the program in order to attend a professional conference, typically NASPA.

You might want to become familiar with Making the Most of College: Students Speak Their Minds by Richard J. Light, The Idea of a University by John Henry Newman, and The Uses of the University by Clark Kerr as well as student personnel services periodicals and journals.
