Murat Yilmaz is a fifth year graduate student in the sociology department. His research interests include studies on family, politics, social change, and health especially as they operate for Muslims in the US and abroad. He is currently interested in how religion influences social issues in Turkey. He has got his MS degree from University of Texas at San Antonio. His first master's thesis (2013) investigated age, period and cohort effects on religiosity in Turkey between 1991-2006. He currently pursues his second master degree (MA) by studying “What Holds Turkish Society Together”.
