Laparoscopy Surgical Course

Many of our residents are eager to explore opportunities to research. As a part of the Science & Health LLC, students can apply to participate in our Earle Hall exclusive laparoscopy lab. This opportunity is a unique, one-of-a-kind class where students can learn the practical aspects of laparoscopy through medically-relevant curriculum.

What is Laparoscopy?

It is a surgical procedure in which an optic instrument is inserted to allow a noninvasive surgery to be performed.

What are the benefits of participating?
  • Gain experience designing a research study
  • Gather subject data, write a research paper, and present a research poster
  • Be part of an encouraging community supported by upper-division student mentors
  • Hear from panels of physicians, surgeons, laparoscopy alumni medical students, and Office of Prehealth Studies staff and faculty
  • Leadership opportunities
