Completing the FAFSA - Online Students

The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is a federal document that is used to offer you federal and state financial aid.  Complete this application carefully and accurately to determine your eligibility.  If you purposely give false or misleading information, you may be fined up to $20,000, be sent to prison, or both.  

In order to apply for federal loan assistance, online students will need to complete the FAFSA at fafsa.gov.  Keep in mind that as a graduate student you are considered an independent student so only your information (and spouses if married) needs to be reported.

FAFSA applications are submitted for the academic year, which begins in the fall and goes through the summer of the following year.  Depending on the online program you are enrolling in, and the specific time of year for the term, you may need to complete the FAFSA for multiple years to have your loan funds available throughout the program.  For example, if you are beginning in a summer term, you will need to complete the current academic year FAFSA for your summer loan, and the FAFSA for the upcoming year for your fall, spring, and following summer terms.  

In order for us to receive your FAFSA please be sure to use Baylor's school code 003545 on your application.  FAFSA applications open annually on October 1 for the following academic year.
