Civil Rights Policy and Procedures
The Baylor Civil Rights Policy and Procedures has been updated. The Civil Rights Policy and Procedures for Employees and the Civil Rights Policy and Procedures for Students have been combined into one policy.
The office with oversight of this policy has been renamed the Equity, Civil Rights, and Title IX Office (formerly the Equity Office).
Overview of the Policy Revisions:
Unification of the employee and student policies into one for enhanced ease and clarity in navigating grievance procedures
Increased reporting responsibilities through elevating student managers to be required reporters
Enhanced clarity and structure regarding requests for balancing complainant autonomy with University decision to respond
Addition, clarification and revision of some key definitions and terms
Allowance for parties to be accompanied by an advisor
Greater structural elements, transparency and details regarding Disciplinary Resolution
Inclusion of appeal procedures
Broadened structure and clarification of options under Adaptable Resolution
