Finding Grants
The OVPR provides support to faculty from across the university in seeking the necessary funding to carry out research projects. This page provides information on each of the university's internal funding programs as well as resources to assist in locating externally funded opportunities.
Internal Funding
Baylor University and the OVPR provide internally funded grants to support faculty research. Internal awards provide different levels of support and carry different requirements depending on the particular program under which awards are made.
External Funding
The OVPR maintains 33 curated lists of external funding opportunities that may be of interest to our faculty (BEAR ID required). The non-exhaustive discipline-specific lists opportunities for all faculty from Anthropology to Theater Arts. External funding databases are also available for PIVOT and GrantForward.
Limited Submission
For some funding opportunities, sponsors set limits on the number of applications that may be submitted by investigators from a particular institution. The OVPR holds an internal competition to select the application(s) who will represent Baylor through submission of a full proposal to the sponsor. This page provides information on Baylor's limited submission policies and procedures, as well as the forms necessary to submit an internal pre-proposal.
Search Funding Databases
The OVPR maintains a subscription to the Pivot database of research funding opportunities. Pivot provides a searchable database of opportunities from government agencies as well as private foundations and other non-government funders. Baylor faculty can search the Pivot database and set up funding alerts that will notify users of any new opportunities that meet defined search terms.
