External Funding

The Office of Research Development (ORD) provides funding opportunity information through curated lists that may be of interest to faculty members looking for support in the following categories. Although not an exhaustive list, the 33 disciplines below provide grant/award opportunities from federal, state, and private funders. For custom funding searches, contact Stacey_L_Smith@baylor.edu.

The ORD also supports faculty to utilize grant databases such as PIVOT and GrantForward.

Pivot is a funding database that indexes opportunities from sponsors around the world including federal funding agencies, private foundations, corporations, professional organizations and more. In addition to basic keyword searches, Pivot also gives users the option to limit search results based on amount, deadline, funding type, geographical area, etc. Registered users can also save searches and receive weekly email alerts with any newly listed opportunities.

GrantForward is a funding database with over 9,000 funding agencies including federal, private, corporations, professional organizations and more. GrantForward uses your research interests, publications, and other profile information to recommend the best-fitting grant opportunities to you. With GrantForward's recommendation service, your funding search will be simplified to be as easy as possible.

Grants.gov is the repository for all funding opportunities from the U.S. federal government. It includes over $400 billion in grants from agencies like the National Science Foundation, National Institutes for Health, Department of Defense and NASA. Note that all opportunities listed in grants.gov are also indexed in Pivot.
