The OVPR provides support to faculty from across the university in seeking the necessary funding to carry out research projects. This page provides information on each of the university's internal grant programs as well as resources to assist in locating externally funded opportunities.
Grant Writing Seminars
The grant writing seminars are intended to help faculty of all
experience levels compete more successfully for external research funding.
Understand the roles and responsibilities of the researcher as well as
available Baylor University support for sponsored research.
Baylor University and the OVPR provide internally funded grants to support faculty research.
Internal grants provide different levels of support and carry different requirements depending
on the particular program under which awards are made.
The OVPR maintains 29 curated lists of external funding opportunities that may be of interest to our faculty (BEAR ID required).
The non-exhaustive discipline-specific lists opportunities for all faculty from Anthropology to Theater Arts.
External funding databases are also available for PIVOT and GrantForward.
For some funding opportunities, sponsors set limits on the number of applications
that may be submitted by investigators from a particular institution. The OVPR holds an internal competition to select
the application(s) who will represent Baylor through sumission of a full proposal to the sponsor. This page provides
information on Baylor's limited submission policies
and procedures, as well as the forms necessary to submit an internal pre-proposal.
Search Funding Databases
The OVPR maintains a subscription to the Pivot database of research funding opportunities.
Pivot provides a searchable database of opportunities from government agencies as well as
private foundations and other non-government funders. Baylor faculty can search the Pivot
database and set up funding alerts that will notify users of any new opportunities that meet
defined search terms.
