Editorial Staff

  • Read submitted essays and prepare detailed written evaluations.
  • Participate in making final decision for inclusion based on evaluations.
  • Work one-on-one with authors to handle revisions/corrections.
  • Proofread final manuscripts.
  • The Chief Editor will coordinate all these activities, oversee and train the staff, and prepare a schedule of deadlines for each semester.
  • Successful candidates for this staff will have exceptional writing and editing skills, enthusiasm for the mission and vision of The Pulse, and excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Public Relations Staff

  • Create signs, fliers, e-mails, etc. to publicize calls for papers, publication dates, and other pertinent deadlines.
  • Target and communicate with specific audiences of students and professors to solicit papers for publication.
  • Explore other means of raising awareness of The Pulse on campus and in the university community, in light of the Baylor strategic plan, Illuminate.
  • Finalize the artwork for the yearly publication and use publishing software to generate an electronic copy of the annual edition.
