BSPH/MPH Joint Degree Program

ATTENTION BACHELOR-LEVEL STUDENTS!
If you major in our Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) program, you may be eligible for our 5-year joint degree program that combines the BSPH degree with a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Community Health Science degree.

Students in the BSPH/MPH in Community Health Science joint program graduate in 5 years with both degrees.

Interested BSPH majors must officially apply during their junior year of the undergraduate (BSPH) program. However, advisement by the program director during the freshman and sophomore years is highly recommended so that careful planning can begin early in the process.

Early planning is important because students in the joint degree program begin taking MPH-level courses during their "senior" year of the BSPH program (while also finishing up some of their BSPH requirements). They also take some MPH-level courses instead of taking the BSPH-level equivalents. (For example, they take a 5000-level epidemiology course instead of the 3000-level epidemiology course.)

Careful planning and strong attention to details can make this joint degree program an exciting, career-enhancing opportunity for those who are qualified and willing to engage.
