Degree Requirement

Baylor University offers a Bachelor of Science in Public Health (124 credit hours). 

Course requirements include a well-rounded foundation of:

  • general workforce skills (social science, psychology, computers, etc.); 
  • health knowledge (stress management, human disease, nutrition, etc); 
  • skills-based courses that focus on the nationally recognized competencies of the health education profession.

Internship Opportunities: An internship in a community health setting allows students to apply what they've learned, gain real-world experience, and develop support networks with potential employers. 

The CHES Exam: Program graduates are eligible to take a national exam to become a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).
