The following criteria have been established by the Psychology Program and the Graduate School at Baylor: BA (or equivalent); minimum 3.0 GPA; three letters of recommendation; personal statement of interest; expressed areas of academic/research interests compatible with those of faculty. The TOEFL (or equivalent) is required for all international students. Note that these are minimums, in most cases. Median scores in recent years have been substantially higher than those stated above.
Prospective Students Must Submit the Following Materials:
- An Application for Admission - Graduate School Online Application
- Unofficial transcripts from all colleges or universities ever attended even if it was a dual credit course that was taken in high school. These must be sent from each college directly.
- Three letters of reference
- The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) WILL BE WAIVED FOR THE 2022 ADMISSION CYCLE. The application deadline is December 1, 2021 (11:59 EST).
Where and When to Send Application Material
It is the applicant's responsibility to make sure that all application materials are received in the Graduate School's Admissions Office by December 1, 2021 at 11:59 PM EST. All application materials and application fee must be submitted online to the Baylor Graduate School, which is separate from the Department of Psychology & Neuroscience. Incomplete applications will not be considered. While the Graduate School's application allows for late submissions, our program WILL NOT CONSIDER APPLICATIONS RECEIVED ON or AFTER DECEMBER 2. The most frequent causes of incomplete applications are lack of (1) unofficial transcripts from all institutions of higher education attended (2) lack of sufficient references and (3) lack of payment of the application fee.
