Staff Position Consideratons

Departments are asked to evaluate all staffing needs as opportunities arise. Whether a new staff position, a staff position replacement, or a temporary staffing need, leaders should look at the needs of the entire organization (departmental, school or college, and university wide) and future planning of department and school/college goals and resources. Position requests should support the strategic plan of the school/college. Requests should be coordinated with the efforts of Human Resources to assist in needs assessments, compensation, and organizational development.

Once you have completed evaluating the position and department need, please contact your Human Resources Consultant. Your HRC can assist you with the following in regard to Staff Employment:

  • Requesting a New Staff Position
  • Replacing a Staff Position
  • Hiring for a Temporary Staff Position
  • Staff Resignation or Retirement
  • Involuntary Separation of Staff
  • Staff Transferring to Another Department
