PRE-LAW ADVISING

A central component of Baylor Pre-Law's programming is one-on-one advising, especially as students began to prepare for the LSAT and their actual applications. Pre-Law advising is available to help you, starting from the time you enter Baylor as a freshman. Why might you see a pre-law advisor? For any reason related to (1) your exploration of the legal profession; (2) your academic success as a pre-law student; or (3) the law-school-application process. Examples of common advising services are:

Advice on classes, majors, and other academic opportunities

General information about legal profession

Information regarding legal internships

Assistant developing an LSAT study plan

Full-service application help

All students who wish to be advised are required to listen to all of the required Pre-Law podcast episodes (link in the menu bar). Freshmen and Sophomores must complete episodes 1-2, 8, 11, 13, 21, 24 & 26 while Juniors and Seniors are required to complete episodes 1-5, 8, 10, 13, 15, 21, 24 & 26 before they are advised. Junior and Senior students are able to make an appointment with the Baylor Pre-Law office by reserving a time via the Navigate app. Current Pre-Law and Pre-Law Interest designated students will receive a weekly email update informing them of walk-in advising opportunities, together with various Pre-Law related events. If you are not yet a Pre-Law student, and would like to find out more, please complete the relevant podcast episodes and contact Benjamin J. Cooper at prelaw@baylor.edu to arrange a time to be advised.
