Collins Outstanding Professor Dr. Marcie H. Moehnke Will Give Recipient Lecture April 12
Dr. Marcie H. Moehnke, lecturer in the Baylor University department of biology, has been selected by this year's senior class as the 2011 Collins Outstanding Professor, an annual award provided by the Carr P. Collins Foundation that recognizes and honors extraordinary teachers at Baylor.

Dr. Marcie H. Moehnke, lecturer in the Baylor University department of biology, has been selected by this year's senior class as the 2011 Collins Outstanding Professor, an annual award provided by the Carr P. Collins Foundation that recognizes and honors extraordinary teachers at Baylor.
The Collins Professor receives a cash award of $10,000, recognition in university publications, citation on a plaque and recognition at the spring commencement. The Collins Professor also delivers a special lecture on a subject of his or her choice.
Moehnke will lecture on "Life Lessons from Scientific Serendipity" at 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, in room A108 of the Baylor Sciences Building on the Baylor campus. The event is free and open to the public, and the lecture will be published and made available to the Baylor community.
Moehnke received her bachelor's degree in biology from Texas Lutheran University, and her master's and doctoral degrees in biomedical studies at Baylor. Her research involves the recombinant expression of pollen allergens in plant and yeast systems to potentially reduce production costs and the unwanted side effects of current immunotherapy.
