Influential Christian Theologian To Speak at Intersections

Baylor University's Student Activities Intersections program will host noted Yale University professor and author Miroslav Volf who will present "Do Muslims and Christians Believe in the Same God?" at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, in the Paul Powell Chapel at George W. Truett Theological Seminary on the Baylor campus.

Volf is currently The Henry B. Wright Professor of Theology at Yale University Divinity School and director of the Yale Center for Faith and Culture. Originally from Croatia, he is a member of both the Episcopal Church in Croatia and the United States.

Volf's book Exclusion and Embrace, was selected as among the 100 Best Religious Books of the 20th Century by Christianity Today.

"His book deals with conflict-resolution particularly between Islamic and Christian faith," said Mike Riemer, associate director of Student Activities. "It should be an interesting lecture based on peace between the two religions."

Volf studied at Evangelical-Theological Faculty and Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, Calif.

The Intersections program combines faith and culture with literature, politics and the arts for spiritual and intellectual growth.
