New Testament Expert From England Featured At The Drumwright Colloquium

Dr. Loveday C. Alexander, former professor cannon in New Testament studies at the University of Sheffield, will present the keynote lecture at the Minette and Huber Lelland Drumwright Jr. Endowed Colloquium in New Testament Studies at Baylor University.
Alexander's lecture, "Jesus in Memory and Tradition," will begin at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 20, in the Paul Powell Chapel in George W. Truett Seminary on the Baylor campus.
The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by Baylor's department of religion and Truett Seminary.
As a scholar, Alexander has explored the links between the New Testament and the Greco-Roman world. She published The Preface to Luke's Gospel and worked as the editor forImages of Empire. Some of Alexander's other works include a first-century point-of-view through the Book of Acts.
Alexander served as the Chairwoman and Secretary of the Social World Seminar of the British New Testament Conference. She serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Biblical Literature, Journal for the Study of the New Testament and New Testament Studies.
In 2002, the Drumwright Colloquium was established to bring New Testament scholars to the Baylor campus to benefit the Baylor community.
