Student government will host a second "Dialogue of Differences" from 4 to 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, in the Marrs McLean Science building on the Baylor University campus.

Hosted by Student Life and Student Government, Dr. Samuel "Dub" Oliver, Interim vice president for student life, and Mark Laymon, Student Body President, will facilitate a follow-up meeting to "A Dialogue of Differences" held on March 8, 2006.

The first meeting stemmed from a controversial party which offended many. According to Oliver, this meeting will continue the dialogue begun at the first forum and engage the participants in planning educational and awareness programs for next year.

The format will consist of open discussion, small group interaction and a sharing of ideas which will be used to plan for a series of four dialogues to be offered for the 2006-2007 school year.

In addition to continued dialogue of past topics, this forum will also discuss recent divisive issues.

Oliver said "A Dialogue of Differences II" came about after the conclusion of the first meeting when both students and staff felt they had a good start but needed to continue to work at ways to make the community even stronger. He hopes students will leave the second meeting with a "commitment to continue working on these issues, and confidence that, working together, we can make a difference."
