Bio:
Douglas began the PhD program in fall of 2018. In spring 2018, he completed a Master of Arts in Liberal Arts at St. John’s College in Santa Fe, NM, receiving honors on his Master’s Essay. From 2010-2016, he served as a Persian Farsi interpreter in the United States Navy and at the National Security Agency. He earned an associate’s degree in Persian Farsi with honors in 2012 from the Defense Language Institute. From 2008-2010, he worked as an analyst in the fixed income capital markets division of the investment bank, Raymond James & Associates, Inc. He completed his bachelor’s in political science from Rhodes College in 2008.

Douglas’ research interests include the history of political philosophy, politics and religion, politics and literature, American foreign policy in Iran and the Middle East, and international relations theory.
