James Curry teaches American constitutional development, criminal justice, public administration, and law and public policy. His textbook, Constitutional Government: The American Experience (co-authored with Richard Battistoni, Rebecca Flavin and Stephen Block), is currently in its tenth edition.
During his tenure at Baylor, Professor Curry has been the recipient of Baylor's Outstanding Tenured Faculty Award presented at commencement, and he has been recognized on several occasions by Phi Beta Kappa and Mortar Board for excellence in teaching. The 81st Texas Legislature formally recognized Dr. Curry's work with interns in 2009.

PSC 3321 Criminal Law
Criminal Justice and Community Law Enforcement
Examination of the criminal justice system, law enforcement, police, courts, and the corrections system from the perspective of law enforcement personnel, alleged offenders, and victims of crime.
PSC 3312 Principles of Public Administration
An introduction to the principles of organization, personnel relations, and popular control of public administration in the United States. Emphasis will be placed on the practices of the national administration; comparisons will be made with the practices of England, France, and the American states.
Research and seminars which will usually include attendance at a seminar held in Washington. Also required is regularly scheduled fieldwork in a governmental or not-for-profit agency located in Washington.
