Texas Astronomy Undergraduate Research Symposium 2016TAURS 2016 Group picture

Baylor University Department of Physics and the Center for Astrophysics, Space Physics, and Engineering Research (CASPER) will be hosting the sixth annual Texas Astronomy Undergraduate Research Symposium on Friday, September 9, 2016. Undergraduates from central Texas are invited to give 10 minute talks on their astronomy research, based on either their summer or academic year research projects. Other students, postdocs, and faculty are invited to attend and hear about the first-rate research being done by these undergraduates.

The symposium will be held at the Baylor Research and Innovation Collaborative, just across the Brazos River from the main campus, with parking freely available. A map to the BRIC can be found here.

Thanks to the generous support of The Baylor Physics Department, the College of Arts and Sciences, and CASPER, funds are available for a small number of out-of-town student speakers and their research advisers for travel expenses and, if desired, a hotel stay in Waco the night before the Symposium. NOTE 8/29/31: The deadline for hotel reservations has passed. The deadline for registration for all participants is August 29, 2016.
