Dr. Howard Lee received two prestigeous awards over this summer

Dr. Howard Lee of our department enjoyed receiving two prestigious awards over this past summer. He is awarded for the DARPA "Director Fellowship". The Director Fellowship is selected to a limited number of awardees who demonstrate exceptional DARPA Young Faculty Award (YFA) project performance over the 24-month base period. He was also awarded for the Young Scientist Award at the 2019 Optoelectronics Global Conference (OGC) in Shenzhen, China. Congratulation!

Baylor Lariat: Baylor officially announces plans to become R1 institution

Aug. 30, 2019 Baylor formally announced plans to join the top tier of American research universities by pursuing the Research 1 classification. The Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education defines its R1 classification as one given to universities with “very high research activity.” Interviewed for the article were Provost Nancy Brickhouse, Ph.D., and Charles Weaver, Ph.D., professor and chair of psychology and neuroscience in Baylor’s College of Arts & Sciences.
