Last week, Victor Boutros, a former undergraduate philosophy student in our department, and colleague John Richmond briefed President Trump on human trafficking. Boutros and Richmond are the founding directors of The Human Trafficking Institute, an organization that exists to decimate modern slavery at its source by empowering police and prosecutors to stop traffickers. The meeting allowed for President Trump to hear about domestic and international human trafficking from experts in the field.
