The Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing (LHSON) is pleased to welcome Jamie Quinn, MSIS, as the new Director of the Learning Resource Center.
"We are very excited to welcome Ms. Quinn to our team,” said Linda Plank, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, Interim Dean, Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing. “Ms. Quinn brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Learning Resource Center.”
Jamie has thirteen years of experience as a medical and academic librarian. In serving, she has assisted individuals with finding scholarly health sciences information, business information, and consumer health literature. She has received grant funding to support her previous libraries to digitize historical medical texts in the public domain and to provide teaching and education to support Disaster Health and Emergency Management initiatives at the hospital level. Jamie has helped to organize scholarly symposiums for faculty and librarians as well as taught database searching skills to undergraduate and graduate students.
Previous to joining Baylor University, Jamie worked at Amberton University’s Learning Resource Center as Library Director. Her professional portfolio also includes serving at Texas Health Resources, TH Dallas Medical Library, as Library Supervisor/Coordinator and the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Gibson D. Lewis Library, as Digital Projects Librarian.
Distinguished for her leadership, she served as Chair of the Awards Committee for the Medical Library Association and has been very active with HealthLINE, a North Texas association of medical and health science librarians. She has a Master of Science in Information Science from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
