Baylor University’s Louise Herrington School of Nursing (LHSON) is proud to have nineteen nurses recognized over the years as DFW Great 100 Nurses. For the 2019 ceremony, we congratulate the 20th honoree from Baylor University LHSON, Dr. Barbara D. Camune, RNC, MSN, WHNP-BC, CNM, DrPH, FACNM who has worked in the field of nursing for 48 years. This prestigious event was held on April 15, 2019 at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. With more than 40,000 nurses practicing in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, The DFW Great 100 Nurses increases the awareness of nursing. These highly revered nurses come from practice areas such as: acute care, school nursing, academics, nurse leaders and more.
As Dr. Camune expressed in the DFW Great 100 Nurses 2019 program, “I am honored and humbled to be recognized for my work with women and other contributions to the profession. I consider it a privilege to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the clinic and never expected any reward for doing so. This is a lifetime achievement award for me and I am grateful.”
We also want to congratulate DFW Great 100 Nurse honoree and Baylor University LHSON alumnus, Swann Waterhouse. She has been a nurse for 10 years and is a wound ostomy continence nurse for Parkland Health and Hospital System.
