Work and Education
Professor Brandt has taught nursing at Baylor since 2018. Prior to teaching, she began her work as a nurse in medical/surgical nursing. She then moved to the pediatric ICU where she worked for 4 years as a staff and charge nurse. After she graduated with her MSN in 2017, she began working as a family nurse practitioner in an asthma and allergy practice. She is now a family nursing practitioner at Paragon Healthcare infusion center, in addition to teaching clinical courses on Level 2 (med/surg) and Level 3 (pediatrics) at Baylor.
Committees and Organizations
Professor Brandt is an active member of the Faculty Affairs committee at Baylor. She is also a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau, and Texas Nurses Association.
Research and Presentations
Professor Brandt is currently completing her DNP at University of Texas Arlington. Through the program she plans to complete and present research on childhood vaccination hesitancy.
Professor Brandt is actively involved in her church, Fielder Church, in Arlington. She and her husband Jared serve in the preschool and discipleship ministries. Courtney and Jared will soon be licensed foster parents and will welcome their first foster child into their home, along with their two biological children, Emma (2) and Henry (1).
