Goal

5-10min podcast style episodes intended to encourage the LHSON community, through the reading of psalms, interviews, and reflections on contemporary events - social, cultural, and religious.

Outcomes

  • Provides an additional means of spiritual care as an alternative to in-person sessions
  • Teaches the value of the psalms for times of crisis and uncertainty
  • Cultivates a culture of encouragement and support during this coronavirus pandemic
  • Establishes a model of how one might encourage others in a time of “social distancing”

Facilitator

  • Sahr Mbriwa, Chaplain

Sahr Mbriwa is the Chaplain at Baylor University’s Louise Herrington School of Nursing. In addition to his responsibilities as Chaplain and overseeing the spiritual care of students, staff, and faculty at Baylor’s School of Nursing, he frequently writes and lectures on the intersection of lament, discipleship, and cross-cultural engagement. Sahr has served in various leadership roles over the last decade as a community developer, working with faith-based communities, universities, counselors and other healthcare professionals. He holds a Doctor of Ministry in urban missiology from Missio Seminary. He and his wife, Lisa, live in Dallas, TX with their five boys.

  • On occasion, guests will also be invited to share their reflections either in-person or via video.
