From the Director

Thank you for visiting the US Army Graduate Program in Anesthesia Nursing (USAGPAN)/Baylor Louise Herrington School of Nursing Page. The primary focus of the USAGPAN is to train and prepare Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) for complete autonomous practice in all clinical settings, including austere environments.  The USAGPAN is not only a top-tiered program, but also provides some of the most rewarding educational experiences for this profession.  The USAGPAN prides itself with a commitment to clinical excellence, as well as keeping a strong tie to the Army Values.  The USAGPAN produces independent clinicians and highly skilled leaders for the Army and the Veteran’s Administration health delivery systems.

The USAGPAN is located at the US Army Medical Center of Excellence at Joint Base San Antonio, Fort Sam Houston, TX.  Upon graduation, students are awarded a Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree from Baylor University, and are eligible to take the National Certification Exam. USAGPAN’s devoted faculty and staff, with the inclusion of the partnership with Baylor University, ensures our program is maintained as a highly regarded institution of excellence.
