As a new transfer student, you will have an academic advisor who will help you select and register for your first semester classes. There are a number of important items to take care of in order to prepare for and complete the advising and registration processes.

The Advising Questionnaire, which will be accessible through your goBaylor account, asks you to share information about any potential college credit you might be transferring to Baylor. This form is also where you can update your expected major.
Texas state law requires that ALL new students under the age of 22 must show proof of meningococcal vaccination within the last 5 years and at least 10 days prior to the first class day. You will not be able to register for classes at Baylor until proof of the vaccine has been submitted to and processed by the Baylor Health Center.
You are highly encouraged to submit your documentation well in advance of your academic advising appointment. Visit the Health Center's website to learn more about the requirement and how to submit your documentation.
Many offices and departments will be communicating important information to you as you prepare for your first semester, and most of this communication will be through your Baylor email. Be sure to activate your Bear ID and Baylor email account, then take steps to set up your Microsoft 365 applications on your computer and any other devices.
Baylor uses a security program called Duo to help protect students, faculty, and staff as they utilize many of the University’s technology resources. Duo is a two-factor authentication process that you will use when you access systems like Canvas, Bearweb, Box, and other systems.

If you have achieved any prior college-level credits that you anticipate transferring to Baylor, it is best to have those sent to Baylor before your academic advising appointment. You will be assigned an academic advisor who will help you select and register for your first semester classes. You can expect your advisor to contact you to arrange an advising conversation. Be sure to regularly check your Baylor email and respond to your advisor promptly in order to set up your advising conversation. You and your advisor will work together to determine if the conversation will occur by phone, email, or a campus visit.

During your advising conversation, you and your advisor will discuss your academic aspirations and work together to design a class schedule for your first semester. Visit the University Advisement website for great resources and recommendations to prepare for your advising appointment.
During or soon after your advising conversation, you should receive information from your advisor regarding important next steps. Those will include items such as selecting a meal plan, parking options, and understanding the Financial Settlement process.
