NSE Community Building Events

The New Student Experience combines courses and programs designed to help students transition well to the rigorous academic environment at Baylor. These experiences engage students academically, socially, and spiritually, helping students form meaningful connections, academic community, and success at Baylor and beyond.

The New Student Experience (NSE) for many Health Science Studies new students in the Department of Health, Human Performance and Recreation in the Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences is HED 1350 and Dr. Tricia Blalock (N2) & Kimberly Smith’s (N1) classes were able to enjoy a community engagement event this semester in front of Cameron Park at the suspension bridge.  They had a pizza party, enjoyed nature and strolled down the suspension bridge for an incredible view of Waco from the water.  It was a wonderful time to connect as an NSE community!

Professor Hillman’s University 1000 class was able to take field trips to Armstrong Browning Library and the Poage Legislative Library, where they enjoyed team building activities and engaging with the rich history found on Baylor's campus.

Dr. Yoshiko Fujii Gaines’ NSE Japanese class learned how to make their own sushi.
