December 10, 2022

Maureen Murchie (BA '01, University Scholar; '03, Performance) is keeping very busy in the East Coast period instrument field. The violinist recently performed with Apollo's Fire in Cleveland and The Handel and Haydn Society in Boston, The American Classical Orchestra, and other diverse engagements including shows with Harry Connick, Jr. Additionally, she has been appointed concertmaster of the Bismarck North Dakota Symphony. Murchie plans to release an album in the near future. She said, "A jazz pianist friend and I recorded a CD of old hymn arrangements. I started the project because I had all these old arrangements that my dad had written for us to play in church as kids and I thought it might be nice to record them."
