November 21, 2021
Five members of the Baylor University music faculty will combine their talents to present a chamber recital on Monday, December 6, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in Roxy Grove Hall. Performers will be Euridice Álvarez (oboe), Ran Kampel (clarinet), Kristy Morrell (horn), Ann Shoemaker (bassoon), and Kae Hosoda-Ayer (piano).
Their program will open with French composer Eugène Bozza’s Suite brève en trio, Op. 67. Scored for oboe, clarinet, and bassoon, this four-movement work dates from the year 1947.
Also to be heard is Quintet in E-flat major for Piano and Winds, Op. 16, by the great German master Ludwig van Beethoven. Written in 1796, this three-movement work received its premiere performance in Vienna on April 6 of the following year.
The Baylor recital is free of charge and open to the public. It is also available for livestreaming at baylor.edu/music/live.
