Baylor Percussion Group in Concert

Due to the current pandemic situation, the Baylor Percussion Group’s next concert of 2021 will be presented without an in-person audience. However, viewers at home can enjoy the performance by going to the School of Music website for a streaming opportunity.
This concert will be streamed to the public on Wednesday, April 28, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Directors of the ten-member Baylor Percussion Group are Todd Meehan, Professor of Percussion, and Chris Sies, Adjunct Lecturer of Percussion.
Opening their program will be the world premiere of BPG member Gray Campbell’s Path. Mr. Campbell is a sophomore composition student from Houston.
Next, the Baylor Percussion Group will play the world premiere of Discourse by another member of the group, Collin McEneaney, a sophomore composition student from Fort Worth.
Both of these young composers are students of Scott McAllister, Baylor University’s Professor of Composition and Director of the Division of Academic Studies.
The program will conclude with a two-part work called Torque by Vijay Iyer, an American composer, pianist, bandleader, producer, and writer who is based in New York City.
