Piano Faculty Celebrate Beethoven's 250th Birthday

In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827), faculty artists from the Baylor University School of Music will present a concert of the great German master’s piano music. The premiere of this pre-recorded concert will be streamed on Tuesday, November 17, beginning at 7:30 p.m., and commentary will be provided by noted Beethoven authority Robin Wallace, Professor of Musicology at Baylor University.
Opening the concert will be pianist Lesley McAllister to perform four of Beethoven’s Seven Bagatelles, Op. 33.
Jani Parsons will play the middle two movements from Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 18 in E-flat major, Op. 31, No. 3.
Next, Kae Hosoda-Ayer will present the final movement from Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 23 in F minor, Op. 57, popularly known as the “Appassionata” Sonata.
Bradley Bolen will play Beethoven’s Polonaise in C major, Op. 89.
Terry Lynn Hudson will perform the first two movements of Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 30 in E major, Op. 109.
And Brian Marks then will complete that same sonata by playing its third and final movement.
