Baylor's Jazz Ensemble in Fall Concert

The Baylor University Jazz Ensemble will present its final program of the fall semester on Thursday, November 20, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in Jones Concert Hall, located within the Glennis McCrary Music Building.
This talented group of eighteen young musicians performs under the leadership of Alex Parker, Continuing Lecturer in Jazz Studies and Director of the Baylor University Jazz Program.
Opening the concert will be “Fingers” by Thad Jones, Bill Holman’s “Tree Frog,” and “Promise” by Ken Schaphorst.
Also to be heard are an arrangement by Fred Sturm of Ástor Piazzolla’s “Libertango,” the Dave Eshelman setting of Michael Brecker’s “Delta City Blues,” and Maria Schneider’s “Green Piece.”
The program will conclude with Steve Owen’s “In the Tradition.”
