Clarinet Studio Class


Prospective clarinet players interested in learning more about clarinet study at Baylor are invited to join our studio class, offered weekly on Thursday afternoons!

What is studio class?

Once a week our clarinet professor, Ran Kampel, and the entire clarinet studio meet as a group in an informal masterclass setting. Studio class gives each student the opportunity to perform, receive feedback, and receive relevant lectures from the professor or from guest artists.

  • September 17th- Mental preparation 
  • September 24th- The great masters of the clarinet 
  • October 1st- Body maintenance (Guest speaker: Dr. Lesley McAllister)
  • October 8th - Reeds 
  • October 15th- Memorization 
  • October 22nd- Preparation for audition/competition/recital 
  • October 29th- Public speaking 
  • November 5th- Picking out clarinet equipment 
  • November 12th- Intonation 
  • November 19th- Career paths

How to Sign-up

Attending studio class requires no pre-planning. Class meets on Thursdays from 3:45 pm-5:30 pm Central Time. If you would like to join please email Professor Kampel and let him know you would like to attend, then click the Zoom link below to participate:
