Dates and Deadlines

Undergraduate and graduate (master's) prospective students will find important dates and deadlines on this page, including Audition Dates at the bottom. For questions regarding undergraduate admissions, please contact Mary Sage, Admissions and Recruiting Coordinator; for questions regarding graduate admissions, please contact Melinda Coats, Graduate Studies Administrative Assistant. Prospective doctoral students, visit the Center for Church Music Studies' site for information on Church PhD and DMA admissions.


Undergraduate

Beginning August 1
Beginning October 1
  • Fill out FAFSA (Baylor school code = 003545): Incoming freshmen and transfer students can apply for financial aid including loans, grants, and scholarships for the upcoming academic year as soon as possible beginning October 1 at fafsa.gov.
  • Fill out CSS Profile (Baylor school code = 6032): To be considered for any Baylor need-based financial aid, incoming freshman and transfer students should complete the CSS Profile beginning October 1 at cssprofile.collegeboard.org.
November 1 Deadline
  • For maximum scholarship opportunities including University Academic Awards, Invitation to Excellence, grants and assistance, etc., students are encouraged to complete their University applications (including FAFSA and CSS profile) by the Early Decision and Early Action deadline of November 1.
  • Early Action Deadline - undergraduate applicants who submit their Baylor University application and all supporting materials by November 1 will receive an admissions decision by January 15. 
  • Early Decision Deadline - A binding agreement in which undergraduate applicants commit (by the November 1 deadline) to attend Baylor if accepted. These students will receive an admissions decision by December 15.
December 1 Deadline
  • Transfer Student Spring Admission Deadline - Transfer students should submit their university application by this date.
February 1 Deadline
  • Baylor University Application Deadline - Any incoming freshmen interested in attending Baylor should plan to apply to the university no later than February 1.
  • School of Music Application Deadline - All incoming freshmen and transfer music applications must be submitted via Acceptd by February 1. Video recorded auditions must also be uploaded to your Acceptd application by this date.
  • Priority deadline for FAFSA results to be sent to Baylor University.
April 10
  • All university admissions decisions will be made.
May 1 Deadline
  • Enrollment Deposit Deadline - All incoming freshman who have chosen to attend Baylor University must submit their $500 enrollment deposit before 5:00 p.m. CST on May 1. Deposit is non-refundable.

Graduate

  • Graduate School applications are available year-round. Students who wish to begin study in the fall must submit their materials to the graduate school by February 15.
Beginning August 1
Beginning October 1
  • Fill out FAFSA (Baylor school code = 003545): Incoming graduate students can apply for financial aid including loans, grants, and scholarships for the upcoming academic year as soon as possible beginning October 1 at fafsa.gov.
October 15 Deadline
  • Graduate applicant "Spring" deadline for those wanting to begin school in the Spring (January rather than August).
Beginning January 1
  • This is a priority deadline for MM Choral Conducting applicants. January 1, conducting faculty will begin reviewing MM Choral Conducting School of Music Applications. Based on the conducting videos (conducting an ensemble in rehearsal and performance) submitted via the School of Music Application, conducting faculty will extend invitations for auditions. After the auditions, a final selection of candidates will be made for admission and assistantships.
  • Note: faculty do not begin reviewing MM Band Conducting and MM Orchestral Conducting applications until February 1.
February 1 Deadline
  • School of Music Application Deadline - All incoming graduate music applications (to begin school in August) must be submitted via Acceptd by February 1.
  • Priority deadline for FAFSA results to be sent to Baylor University.
February 15 Deadline
April 10
  • All university admissions decisions will be made.

Live Virtual Auditions and Interview Dates:

For the 2020-21 application cycle, applicants that require an audition on their primary instrument will be required to upload a video recorded audition to their music application. After your application file is reviewed, a follow-up live virtual audition and/or interview may also be required. If required, you will be notified via Acceptd to schedule your audition timeslot on one of the dates indicated below.
