Randall Umstead, tenor, holds the Charles W. Evans Chair in Voice, is Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, Director of the Division of Vocal Studies, and an Associate Professor at Baylor University. He received his education at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (DMA and MM) as a student of Barbara Honn, and Oklahoma Baptist University (BM). Twice a fellow at Tanglewood, he has performed extensively as an operatic and concert singer in the US, Europe, and South Africa. Largely now focused on baroque, classical, and contemporary works, he has appeared as a soloist with the Flagstaff Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, Colorado Bach Ensemble, Kwazulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Bach Societies of Houston, Dallas, and Dayton. Dr. Umstead serves as governor for the Texoma Region of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. He was a quarterfinalist in the 2010 International Vocal Competition's-Hertogenbosch and a finalist in the American Bach Society's 5th Biennial Vocal Competition.
