Audition Requirements

Undergraduate

Every student applying to be accepted into the School of Music for an undergraduate degree must audition on their principal instrument. The audition is the most important factor in determining whether a student will be accepted as a music major. Applicants can select their desired audition date on the School of Music application. All audition dates are in-person unless noted otherwise. Choose your instrumental area below for more details:


Graduate

Only students applying for the following majors must complete an audition in their emphasis area or on their primary instrument. Note: Additional materials are needed for the other graduate degree programs and can be submitted on the School of Music application (see How to Apply).

  • Church Music (Performance or Conducting emphasis)
  • Collaborative Piano
  • Conducting (Band, Choral, Orchestral)
  • Performance (all areas)
  • Piano Pedagogy & Performance
