The Wayne Fisher Jazz Program

The Wayne Fisher Jazz Program at Baylor University is a comprehensive program dedicated to the study and performance of the uniquely American art form of Jazz. Students can take courses in jazz theory, history, improvisation, arranging, and applied lessons. The program also features several performing ensembles, including two big bands and various jazz combos, made up of students from a variety of disciplines throughout the university, who share a passion and love for performing and learning about this great music.

Each year the Wayne Fisher Jazz Program welcomes renowned jazz musicians and artists to campus to work with, instruct, and perform with the students. These artists share their deep knowledge and love of jazz with the students through masterclasses, lectures, individual lessons, rehearsals, and performances. The students find the experiences of learning from and interacting with these artists who are at the forefront of their craft to be most inspiring. For a list of recent guest artists click HERE.
