Mr. Rudd received music degrees from Baylor University (BME) and the University of Northern Colorado (MM). He served as Assistant Professor of Music at Oklahoma Baptist University for seven years and performed regularly with the Oklahoma Symphony Orchestra. Prior to joining the Baylor University faculty in 2011, MARK SCHUBERT was member of the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra for thirty-­‐three years and a founding member of the Honolulu Brass, a resident ensemble of Chamber Music Hawaii (CMH). While chairman of the CMH board he spearheaded the development of an extensive educational program, bringing chamber music and workshops to public and private schools throughout Hawaii. Jeffrey Powers

JEFFREY POWERS, is a native of San Antonio, Texas, where he attended John Marshall High School. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with "Honors in Music" from Austin College in Sherman, Texas (where he was elected to Alpha Chi National Honor Scholarship Society), and a Master of Music in Horn from the Cleveland Institute of Music. His major instructors were James London of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Albert Schmitter and Myron Bloom of the Cleveland Orchestra, and Roy Waas of the Buffalo Philharmonic. Brent Phillips has been the Assistant Professor of Trombone at Baylor University since the fall of 2004. Currently Mr. Phillips is the principal trombonist of the Waco Symphony and is also principal trombone of the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra in Pennsylvania. As trombonist with the "President's Own", Mr. Phillips has gained extensive experience as a soloist. He has been featured with the Marine Band Chamber Orchestra playing the Concerto for Alto Trombone and Orchestra by Johann Albrechtsberger and has been a frequent soloist with the Marine Band during the summer concert series on the National Mall and Wolf Trap Farm Park in Northern Virginia. ~ More...

Dr. Kent Eshelman

Associate Professor of Tuba/Euphonium

Kent Eshelman is Associate Professor of Tuba and Euphonium at Baylor University, where he joined the faculty in 2009. Previously he held full-time teaching positions at Northern Arizona University and Western Kentucky University, and he has also taught at Grand Valley State University and the Interlochen Arts Camp. A graduate of the University of Michigan in tuba performance (BM) and jazz piano (BFA), he earned a master’s degree in tuba performance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a doctorate in tuba performance at Michigan State University.
