1301 Elementary Swahili

Introduction to Swahili language and culture: pronunciation; conversation and short presentations; role plays and short skits; grammar and vocabulary in context; interpreting short and simple visual materials and written texts (monologues, conversations, pictures, advertisements, announcements; etc.); writing; listening to and interpreting short and simple audio texts, songs and information in short videos; Swahili proverbs and other cultural content and activities; conducting research projects related to regions where Swahili is spoken.

2310 Intermediate Swahili I

Prerequisite(s): SWA 1302.
