Baylor Buddies

Baylor Buddies is a partnership between Baylor University and Communities in Schools (CIS). Through Baylor Buddies, Baylor students serve as mentors to children in the Waco Independent School District (WISD). Children range in age from early elementary through middle school.

Who can join?

Any Baylor student who loves service and working with kids! Members commit to acting as responsible, mature role models while developing relationships with children in the community. Members serve during the academic school year from September through May.

What are the activities?

As a member of Baylor Buddies, you will meet with your "buddy" at their school one hour per week. You will also participate in monthly campus/community events with fellow Baylor Buddies.

Why join Baylor Buddies?

Having a positive, consistent role model and friend can significantly increase a child's chances of success and increase their self-confidence!

How to join?

Complete the application and return it to Baylor Buddies located in the Martin House, right next to Collins Residence Hall. Please be sure not to print double-sided! Also, each member will be required to attend a training session BEFORE your application can be processed. Email us at BaylorBuddies@Baylor.edu for more information!
