Shepherd’s Heart Food Pantry began serving families in need in June, 2010. They exist to meet poverty and hunger head on and overcome it. Today it is one of the largest Food Pantries in Central Texas serving thousands of families to protect their children from being without food. Hunger is often invisible, yet it exists among us. As a community, we must address the root causes: lack of opportunity, inadequate education, lack of job training and poverty itself are obstacles we aid in overcoming. Our efforts are to feed the hungry now and find solutions for those whom we assist, that they may overcome the grip of poverty. In 2018 they assisted 29,614 families with 2 million lbs. of food.
