Baylor's Belew Receives Honorary Degree

Dr. John S. Belew, director of the Center for International Education and the Jo Murphy Chair in International Education at Baylor University, recently received a honorary degree from Hong Kong Baptist University.
The degree, doctor of laws, honoris causa, was given in Hong Kong during the school's commencement exercises.
"This is a distinct honor because it is from one of the finest universities in the Far East," Belew said.
The degree was presented to Belew by Christopher Patten, chancellor of Hong Kong Baptist University. This university has had an exchange agreement with Baylor since 1957. Its enrollment is approximately 5,000 students.
