Toombs to Speak During 'Breakfast at Baylor' Nov. 28

November 27, 1995

Dr. Kay Toombs, associate professor of philosophy at Baylor University, will speak during "Breakfast at Baylor" at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, in the Harrington House dining room on campus.
Toombs, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, will speak on "what it is like living with a physical disability, especially from my perspective as someone who has multiple sclerosis. The perspective of the world standing from our own two feet is different from one in a wheelchair," Toombs said.
"I'm a phenomenologist, which is someone who studies philosophical perspectives focusing on immediate experience, and the way we constitute the world and meaning. This will be the focus of my speech," she said.
The admission is $10 for Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce members and $15 for non-members. For tickets and other information, call 752-6551.
