Baylor to Host Community College Faculty Conference Sept. 13

WACO, Texas-Baylor University's Department of Educational Administration will host its second annual Community College Faculty Conference from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, in the Bill Daniel Student Center.
Dr. Chester Hastings, professor of educational administration, said the conference is an opportunity for community college faculty to enhance their professional development through special sessions, including a hands-on demonstration on the use of technology in teaching.
The keynote speaker will be Dr. Peter Beidler, The Robert Foster Cherry Chair for Distinguished Teaching for the 1995-96 academic year at Baylor, who will speak on "What Makes A Good Teacher?"
Other sessions will address "Legal Do's and Don'ts for the Teacher," presented by Frank W. Hill and John M Rogers, attorneys and counselors for Hill Gilstrap, Moorehead, White, Bodoin, and Webster from Arlington, Texas, and "E-mail and Internet Connectivity," presented by Jim Johnson, senior research associate for the Center for Occupational Research and Development.
Last year, the conference attracted 179 community college faculty members throughout Central Texas, including Dallas, Houston, Temple and San Antonio.
