Baylor Theater to Present 'Accidental Death of An Anarchist'

September 21, 1995

Baylor University's Department of Theater Arts will present "Accidental Death of an Anarchist" at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 27-30 in the Jones Theater, located in the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center.
A matinee performance will be presented at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 30.
The play is written by Dario Fo. It was designed and directed by Baylor graduate student Richard Leslie, in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the master of fine arts degree.
"It is based on a true event that took place in Italy in 1969," said Leslie. "There were a lot of bombings, and the police rounded up a bunch of suspects that were anarchists. During interrogation, a suspect fell to his death from a fourth floor window. This is the opening premise of the play."
The character of The Fool enters, and is the catalyst for the plot development for the rest of the play, a blend of comedy and political satire.
The play stars Even Archilla as The Fool, Danny Seckel as the Sergeant/Officer, Troy Marshall as Inspector Bertozzo, Andy Braner as the Captain, David Dawson as the Chief, and Stephanie Young as the Reporter.
Tickets are priced at $6. For more information, call the Baylor Theater at 755-1861.
